Our desire is to bring you the really great news.
Our Resolute Hope has a single focus: to bring the really great news of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. The news that Jesus Christ came to do more than just forgive our sins.
He came to give us life. His life, the very life of God, lived in and through us as we walk in faith each and every day.
Our desire is to bring you the really great news.
When we launched Our Resolute Hope, we prayed that it would bring the great news of Jesus to all who will listen. The news that Jesus came do more than just forgive our sins and open a path to heaven.
He came to give us life. His life, the very life of God, lived in and through us as we walk in faith each and every day.
Centered on the bible teaching of Pastor Frank Friedmann.
Centered originally on the bible teaching of Pastor Frank Friedmann, Our Resolute Hope is expanding to include a growing number of contributors. Frank’s heart has always been to promote others who faithfully proclaim the glory of the New Covenant.
We welcome our contributing writers as they openly share their lives in Christ through the lens of their own personal experiences and differing backgrounds. They share the same goal – to lift up Jesus so He can draw to Himself all who will come.

Our team
Frank was born and raised in a large Catholic family. He believed in God but had little understanding about His grace. After many turbulent years, both personally and relationally, Frank surrendered to Christ as a university senior. Motivated by a deep desire to know and share the gospel, Frank founded a chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After deciding against a professional football career, he chose instead to enter seminary.
Frank pastored for eight years before Father opened his eyes to the glories of the New Covenant and what Jesus secured for us on the cross. He saw that Jesus was more than Lord and Savior. He was also our Life, offering everything He is to meet all our needs at the moment we trust Him in faith. Not surprisingly, his focus took a dramatic turn. In Frank’s words, “I used to minister knowledge, but now I seek to minister the Life that’s found only in Jesus!”
For more than 30 years, Frank was the teaching pastor of Grace Life Fellowship in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is married to Janet, and they have four children: Les-Leigh Cargill, Ben, Morgan, and Avery.
Born to 1st-generation immigrant parents, John grew up in the Roman Catholic church. He’s even a godfather! But despite the best efforts of many parochial school and catechism teachers, he found God harsh and demanding. So he kept a safe distance.
That changed in 1975 when he trusted Jesus as Savior after reading ‘The Late Great Planet Earth’. Marriage, career, and family followed, as did a history of leadership and service in local churches. But his life changed dramatically when Father opened his eyes to the New Covenant and what really happened at the cross.
Since then, John’s focus has been simple – to understand Christ’s Life in him and to share that Life with others. For more than 30 years, he’s worked alongside Pastor Frank and others to teach and apply the New Covenant in the local church.
He wears several hats for Our Resolute Hope – board member, host for the ORH Podcast, and contributing writer and editor. Terri and John married in 1979 and together they have ten children (five by birth, five by marriage) and nine grandchildren … but always hope for more!
Roberta was born in Cajun country, but as soon as she and her husband Frank Schroeder married after graduating from LSU in 1978, they took off for points all over the US, doing television production for Christian ministries. In 1996, she retired from the production industry to raise and homeschool their adopted son, Daniel.
Roberta began working with Frank Friedmann in 2007.
She handles the Our Resolute Hope resource sales and bookkeeping, and assists in some of the projects that are in development.

Our statement of faith
Verbal inspiration of the Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God in the original manuscripts. They are infallible, inerrant, and God-breathed, a perfect rule of faith and practice.
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe God the Son, who has always existed, became a man (without diminishing His deity) by virgin birth through Mary. He lived a sinless life and, as the infinite God-man, took upon Himself the sins of all humankind, died in their place, and satisfied God concerning their sins. We further believe in the literal, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He then ascended and was exalted to the right hand of God as the great High Priest of all believers.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person Who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ and indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. His present ministry to believers also includes empowering, teaching, and leading into all truth.
Humankind
We believe all humankind was created in the image and likeness of God. But through Adam’s sin, we inherited a sinful nature and forfeited our intimate relationship with God. Alienated from Him, we are unable to remedy our lost condition apart from faith in the finished work of Christ.
Salvation
We believe salvation is the gift of God brought to humankind by grace, apart from any works on our part, and received by our personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. Upon receiving salvation, we receive eternal life and becomes partakers of Christ’s life. We become new creations and obtain new identities as children of God.
Eternal Security
We believe all who have come to reliance upon the work of Christ for their salvation will never lose this relationship.
Devil & Demons
We believe Satan is a personage who is aided by a host of evil spirit beings called demons. They are the arch enemies of God and therefore the arch enemies of humankind. Their evil intent is to blind the lost to the good news of the Gospel. They also seek to undermine the believer’s experiential victory in Christ by sowing lies and discord in the believer’s lives, families, and churches. Consequently, believers must guard against their evil schemes so they can remain standing firm in Christ.
Sanctification
All believers have eternal life, which is Christ’s life. We have been united with Christ, spiritually crucified, buried, raised, and enthroned with Christ. Our co-crucifixion and co-resurrection become experiential realities for us as we choose to walk in the Spirit, and thus in victory, and not after the flesh. Sanctification, then, is Christ living His life out through believers. We do not teach passivity, sinless perfection, or the deification of man. Rather we express the transforming truth of Christ in us, the hope of glory.
How Dr. John met Pastor Frank.
I met Frank Friedmann in 1989, when my family attended the church he pastored in a nearby town. One Sunday this young firebrand stunned everyone when he apologized … yes, apologized … to his congregation. He confessed that, while his past teaching had emphasized knowledge, his future teaching would have a single focus – Christ as our Life. I didn’t understand what he meant, but I knew that my friend had something I didn’t. And I wanted it, too.
Fast forward a few short years. Frank and I began a journey together as brothers, church elders, and ministry partners. And I saw my friend mature, growing in wisdom and transforming steadily into a tender, compassionate comforter.
Over the decades, Frank has shepherded his local church faithfully in the truths of Jesus Christ as our joy, hope, peace, rest, freedom, and abundant life. His teaching and counseling ministries have affected countless lives and marriages, including mine. Father God has forged in Frank a sensitivity, understanding, trust, and dependence that draws hurting people to him, and then, ultimately to Jesus.
Our Resolute Hope is the fruit of Frank’s ministry in partnership with supporters who also wish to share the good news of the New Covenant. I am honored to be part of the Our Resolute Hope team, but by far the greater blessing is to name Frank Friedmann as my friend.
